ROSES AND CASTLES is a Tokyo-based creative platform established in 2021 with the sole purpose of building an international creative community, and giving artists an opportunity to share their talents with the world.
What does ‘ROSES AND CASTLES’ mean to its founders?
FRANKIE: ‘ROSES AND CASTLES’ is a metaphor. I think everyone needs to treat their dreams like they were roses. You have to be patient, and give adequate care for them to blossom into beautiful flowers. The same process applies to goals. It is important to have big aspirations, and ample time for yourself to figure things out to achieve said goals.
Growing up, I always dreamed of living in a huge castle from one of my fantastical medieval storybooks. So in a way, I think it’s necessary for people to have ambitions as big as castles.
DRIIZZEE: ‘ROSES AND CASTLES’ is a place where people can come to express themselves. Just like roses, humans have different colors and personalities and we should accept one another for who we are. Our castle is free of worldly and social norms. It’s not just a platform for expressing music and art but a place to express yourself.
