About us
Roses and Castles is a platform based in Tokyo, Japan.
It was established in 2021 by Key (Tokyo Stizz), Driizzee and Frank!e with the sole purpose of building an international creative community in Japan and giving artists an opportunity to share their talents with the world. We hold monthly events which bring together several musicians, DJs, Artists, photographers and party lovers in and around Tokyo.
What does ‘Roses and Castles’ mean?
Frankie: ‘Roses and Castles’ is a metaphor. I think everyone needs to treat their dreams as if they were roses growing in a garden. You have to be patient and give them adequate care for them to grow into beautiful flowers. The same applies to goals. It is important to also have big aspirations. As a kid, I always wanted to live in a castle because they looked incredibly huge and awesome in all these medieval storybooks I would read. So in a way, I think it’s necessary for people to have ambitions as big as castles.
Key: ‘Roses and Castles’ to me is the home of artistic expression. This is where artists can come to be free from the pressures of society- a place that accepts art in all forms. A place that waters the seed of inspiration. A place where Roses bloom all year long.
Driizzee: ‘Roses and Castles’ is a place where people can come to express themselves. Just like Roses, humans have different colors and personalities and we should accept one another for who we are. Our castle is free of worldly and social norms. It’s not just a platform for expressing music and art but a place to express yourself.
